![]() ![]() It's the fourth installment in the Ultima Series. Now I'm even more excited about this next game because it is one of my all time favorites. Just search for NetHackCocoa, all one word, and you can download it for free. ![]() Now getting NetHack is pretty easy on the Mac because it is in the Mac App Store. It can take a long time to complete a game and discover all the different random things that can appear in NetHack. You can play over and over again discovering different paths in the dungeon and getting better and better at your performance through the game. So with it being random the cool thing is that it is replayable. You are going to have many, many, many levels and there are a lot of different things that you can explore in this dungeon. So all that stuff that you see being revealed now as I move around wasn't there until I actually got there. The cool thing about it, the really geeky thing about it, is that the dungeon is randomly generated for the most part. You choose your different type of character here and you start off and you basically move around in a dungeon. ![]() Two such games are available today on the Mac. There are several role playing games from the eighties and nineties that I think are the best simply because they tell the story really well despite the fact that the graphics aren't what we expect today. One of the genres where this is particularly true is role playing games. So while computer games keep getting better and better there are some old games that stand the test of time in my opinion.
